Steve Hinson

Steve Hinson, age 77,  passed away  on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at his residence.  He was born on August 3, 1948 in Roanoke, VA to Fred and Mina Hinson and had lived in the Glennville area most of his life.

Throughout his life, Steve was known as a dedicated and hardworking individual who devoted many years to his career as a truckdriver. His professional journey included time with Texgas, Suburban Propane, Altamaha Propane, and Triangle J, where he diligently transported goods and contributed to the energy industry with steadfast commitment.

Steve was a man of character, often described as good as gold. He possessed a big heart that touched the lives of those around him, though he was known to be a little stubborn, a trait that defined his determined spirit. His personality left a lasting impression on friends and colleagues alike, who remember him with respect and admiration.

Beyond his work, Stephen found joy and relaxation in his hobbies. He was passionate about fishing, spending serene moments by the water’s edge in pursuit of his catch. Riding motorcycles offered him freedom and exhilaration on the open road, while participating in turkey shoots reflected his appreciation for sporting traditions.

He is a member of Little Rock Baptist Church and is preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Bales and his grandson, Logan Hinson.

He is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Stevie and Brooke Hinson of Collins, Scotty and Samantha Hinson and Jason and Jaye Hinson all of Glennville; his siblings, Freddie (Sherry) Hinson of Glennville, Bobby (Michelle) Hinson of Rincon and Chris (Jennifer) Hinson of Lyons; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; his companion, Evelyn Ault of Glennville; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 beginning at 11:00am with the funeral services to follow at noon from the Chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home with the Reverend Brad Pickren officiating.  Interment will be in the Little Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Landon Hinson, Cameron Hinson, Riley Hinson, Spencer Hinson, Layton Hinson, George Justice
