Susan Ann Tootle

Susan Ann Tootle, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at her daughter Amy's home in Statesboro surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Metter on June 15, 1953, to John Ward and Agnes Day Googe and had lived in Reidsville most of her life. With a heart full of kindness and a spirit characterized by humility and generosity, Susan leaves behind a legacy that will forever touch the lives of those who had the privilege to know her.

For 16 years, Susan dedicated herself to her work at the Reidsville Huddle House, where she became more than just an employee; she was a cherished member of the community, known for her giving nature and the warmth she shared with all who came through the doors. Her considerate spirit and servant's heart endeared her to many, creating bonds that will endure well beyond her time with us.

She was a member of the Reidsville Church of God but was currently attending Oak Grove Church of God in Surrency.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Doyle Lee Tootle, Jr.; her siblings, Nancy Spikes, Janice Washington, and Robert Googe.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Frog Tootle of Reidsville; her children, Tonya Tootle of Reidsville, Amy (Ronald) Edwards of Statesboro, and Stacey Lee Tootle of Reidsville; siblings, Franklin (Carol) Googe of Reidsville, Bessie Wortham and Kathy Haggard both of Jesup and Linda (Tim) Kennedy of Eulonia; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at noon on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Oak Grove Church of God in Surrency with funeral services to follow 2:00pm with the Reverends Joe and Brittany Parete.  Interment will be in the Stoney Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Gentiva Hospice.
