Susanne Brigid "Bridy" (McDermott) Nocito, 76, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, in Claxton, Georgia. Born on May 22, 1949, in Camden, New Jersey, she was the eldest daughter of the late Lawrence McDermott and Susanne (Devenny) McDermott. Preceded is death by her stepdaughter Stephanie (Nocito) Clark and survived by her husband John Nocito; daughters Tara Grady-Styring (David Styring) and Siobhan Grady-Sparks (Kevin Sparks); stepson Peter Nocito; grandchildren Abaigeal Styring, Ireland Styring, Grady Sparks, Anthony Nocito, and Marlana Clark; great grandson Gus Walker; sisters Rosemary (McDermott) Dunn, Patricia (McDermott) Flanagan, and Kathleen (McDermott) Cuneo.

Bridy graduated from Camden Catholic High School in 1967 and went on to earn her degree from the University of Dayton in 1972. She started her family in 1973 with her former husband Michael J Grady III, and raised their 2 daughters in Washington Twp, Gloucester County, New Jersey. In the early 2000's she moved to Punta Gorda, Florida and married her loving husband, John Nocito.

As the matriarch of her generation and the eldest of four sisters, she embraced her role as the family’s organizer and keeper of memories. She never forgot a name, story, or special moment and found joy in bringing people together. A true artist at heart, she had an extraordinary ability to create beauty from whatever she had on hand. Whether it was crafting something unique or solving a problem with ingenuity, her creativity knew no bounds. Her talents extended to the kitchen as well, where she delighted family and friends with her culinary skills—especially her famous "Bridy's BBQ Sauce," which became a cherished favorite among all who knew her. Known fondly to family & friends as the “Tupperware queen,” her consultant journey started in the mid-1980's. She built a career and success that reflected her determination and entrepreneurial spirit spanning over 30 years.

Bridy’s heart was rooted in service and devotion to others. She was deeply involved with the Girl Scouts for many years, sharing her skills and promoting self reliance with the next generation of strong women. She was a lector and active participant in parish life at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, FL for almost 20 years. Her dedication of service to others extended to volunteering with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Sacred Heart Conference, where she worked faithfully to aid, comfort and guide those in need.

Bridy's life was a testament to intelligence, faith and uncompromising resilience —qualities that shaped her journey and inspired those around her. She exuded warmth and positivity with her smile. Above all, Bridy treasured her family and instilled her love and strength, resilience and independence in her daughters and grandchildren—a legacy that will endure for generations.

Bridy’s life was a beautiful example of creativity, devotion, faith and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her but fondly remembered for the joy she brought into their lives.

May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
