Thomas Paul Cavanaugh, 33, passed away on November 14, 2025, at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina, following a courageous lifelong battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Born on September 21, 1992, and a native of Worcester, Massachusetts, Thomas lived a life defined by perseverance, purpose, and heart.

From an early age, Thomas battled through challenges that would have discouraged most, yet he faced every obstacle with unwavering courage. He made the most of the time he was given, living fully and intentionally. A man of immense determination, Thomas was a business owner, an avid stock trader, and proudly served as a city councilman for the City of Manassas. His passion for travel took him to many places, and everywhere he went, he made friends who became family.

Thomas was known for having the biggest heart. His compassion, loyalty, and selflessness touched countless lives. He loved being an uncle and found joy in every moment spent with his nephews and niece. Thomas loved to laugh, and his sharp wit, warm presence, and ability to listen deeply made him someone others cherished being around. His circle of friends was extensive, a true testament to the love he freely gave and the love that was returned to him.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his mother and stepfather, Sandra and Joe Kenneally; father, Roy Cavanaugh; brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law, Philip Cavanaugh and Kristin Manganello; his beloved nephews and niece, Alexander and Bane Cavanaugh and Kassadi Fournier; and his ex-wife and friend, Abigayil Cavanaugh. Countless friends, gathered from every stage of his life, also survive him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Low Country Cremation and Burial has the honor to serve the Cavanaugh family.
