Thomas Henry Meyer, age 77, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of Georgia Hospice Care. Born on January 17, 1948, Thomas was a man of deep patriotism, unwavering dedication, and quiet strength. Following his formative education, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. During his service, he spent three years in Vietnam where he sustained injuries that led to his medical discharge. However, Thomas’s love for his country and resilient spirit carried him through recovery and he soon reenlisted, this time with the United States Army, where he proudly served for an additional 18 years before retiring with honor.

While stationed in basic training in 1975, Thomas met the love of his life, Terri Glisson. The two shared a deep bond and were married in March of 1978, beginning a partnership that would span over 47 beautiful years. After his military retirement, Thomas channeled his heart for service into the medical field, becoming a nurse and later a Medicaid Specialist. In these roles, he tirelessly worked to ensure that those in need could access vital healthcare services.

Outside of his professional life, Thomas was a man of many passions. He had a fondness for the timeless music of the 1950s and 1960s, was a devoted fan of Walt Disney World, and enjoyed immersing himself in the world of film. He also excelled in martial arts, earning a second degree black belt, an achievement that reflected his discipline and determination. Thomas will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud veteran, and compassionate friend. His legacy of service, love, and quiet courage will live on through those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Terri Meyer; his children, Joshua Dean Meyer, Landon Michael Meyer, Lisa Meyer, and Christopher Morgan; his granddaughters, Chole May Meyer and Kali Meyer; great-grandchildren, Willow and Emory; his chosen mother, Mary Francis Glisson Hendrix; sister, Melanie Glisson Howard; brother, Carlos Glisson; niece, Brittany Howard; nephews, Christopher James (CJ) Salko and Dusty Glisson; grand-nephew, Greyson Glisson and Oliver Elric Salko; grand-niece.
