Tim Werner 07/03/1953–08/17/2025 - "It is with a heavy, loving heart that I, his youngest daughter Jennifer, must announce the passing of my father, Timothy Joe Werner, on Sunday August 17th, 2025, at the age of 72. Dad had been battling with COPD for several years and was only recently diagnosed with Lung Cancer near the end of 2024. He was known to many as “a bit gruff”, “sharp-edged” and “set in his ways”, but those of us who were closest to him can't help but remember him as an affectionate, dedicated, and hardworking Father, Grandfather and Friend with a heart of gold. Allow me to tell you his story…
He was born in Logansport, Indiana to his parents Edwin & Marion (Brandt) Werner on July 3rd, 1953. In adulthood however he lived off and on between the surrounding Texas communities of Ft. Worth, Blue Mound, Haltom City and Mineral Wells; as well as here in the Middle Georgia communities of Macon, Forsyth, Dry Branch, Warner Robins and Ft. Valley. Dad was rarely seen out and about without his cowboy hat and huge coffee mugs. He will always be known for having lived the life of a proud Texan.
Dad was a Veteran of the Peacetime and Vietnam Era. Answering his Call to Duty; he proudly served in both the United States Marine Corp and in the US Army Corp for a combined 12½ years (July 1972 to December 1984) in the positions of Infantryman and Combat Engineer. His time was spent serving active, inactive and foreign assignments; for which he was awarded the following accolades: Expert M-16 Rifle, Expert Hand Grenade, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and Air Force Good Conduct Medal. He was awarded his honorable discharge while stationed at Fort Dix, NJ at the rank of Sergeant.
Sometime after he returned home from military service; he met Dana L Webb and her son, Daniel, and soon married. Together they raised young Daniel and celebrated the birth of their daughter Stacey. Tim spent his earlier years working alongside his father in his concrete company. He and Dana later divorced near to the time of young Stacey’s 5th birthday.
Dad had a lifelong love for creation and spent many years in the fields of apartment maintenance and remodeling and in carpentry and construction throughout his life. He gained a special joy from building sound, stable outdoor decks that continue to stand the tests of time.
He later met the love of his life, Michelle A. (Pint) Ackerman and her two young sons Jim and Joe, in the early ‘90’s. Together they strived to give themselves and the boys a good and respectable life. He and Michelle shared a love for football and the great outdoors and enjoyed taking the boys fishing, camping and rafting on their favorite Texas river. They celebrated their ultimate love for one another with the birth of their daughter Jennifer A. Ackerman-Werner. (This is where I came into the picture). Tim & Michelle’s love continued to grow as they remained together until her passing in October 2015 at the young age of 51yrs.
Tim was also preceded in death by both his parents, Edwin and Marion and his sister Patricia “Patty” A. (Dave) Burns and most recently, his brother-in-law Mark Fairhurst. Survivors include his Step-Son Daniel G. Webb of Texas and daughter Stacey L. Werner of California, his Step-Sons James “Jim” W. Ackerman III of Enterprise, Alabama; Joseph “Joe” (Heather) F. Ackerman of Martinsburg, WV and his youngest daughter, Jennifer (Greg Lazenby) A. Ackerman-Werner aka “My Buddy” of Jacksonville, FL. Tim also leaves behind his brother William “Bill” of Texas, 2 brothers-in-law, William “Bill” Pint, Lorren (Jeani) Pint; and 2 sisters-in-law, Kim (Jeff) McElhaney and Lisa Fairhurst; Dad loved being a Grandfather too. He had a great and lasting pride for each of his grandchildren: Austin (Mikeala) Werner, son to Stacey; Elizabeth, Ellie, Ericka and Joseph Jr, children to Joe & Heather; and Georgia and Avery, daughters to Jennifer. He also leaves behind his nieces, nephews and friends; with special mention given to my Uncle Lorren. Thank You for always being there for Dad.
Final arrangements are being handled by Low Country Cremation and Burial with a private family Celebration of Life Dinner (location TBD).
