Reidsville

Low Country Cremation and Burial announces the passing and funeral services for Tyler John Thompson, age 23 of Reidsville, who passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Emanuel County.  Tyler was born in Statesboro on July 8, 1999, and spent most of his life in Tattnall County as a resident of both Glennville and Reidsville. He was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many during his time with us.

Tyler had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed the thrill of hunting, a skill he acquired from his beloved papaw, Tony. His passion for bass fishing was evident, as he spent countless hours casting lines and relishing in the serenity of the water. Additionally, Tyler's love for music was undeniable. He was a talented guitarist and held a special affinity for Southern Rock and Roll, reflecting his old soul and timeless taste in melodies.

Beyond his hobbies, Tyler was a cherished “unc” to his nephew, Remington. He took great joy in taking Remington fishing and teaching him about firearms. Their bond was unbreakable, and Tyler's presence in Remington's life brought immense happiness to both of them.

In addition to his many passions and cherished relationships, Tyler was a dedicated employee of T&K Hicks Contracting, Inc. He poured his hard work and commitment into his role within the company, leaving a positive impact on his colleagues and contributing to the success of the organization. His work ethic and professionalism will be remembered and valued by his coworkers and the entire T&K Hicks Contracting family. Tyler's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His free spirit, passion for music, and the joy he brought to his family and friends will be eternally cherished.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gloria Brickey and his paternal grandfather, GW Thompson.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Stephanie Thompson (Jody Tootle) of Reidsville and John (Glenda) Thompson of Glennville; his maternal grandfather, Tony (Helen) Brickey of Florida; his paternal grandmother, Marvelle Thompson of Glennville; his siblings, Preston (Whitney) Gibbs and Taylor (Tony) Tootle of Jesup, Katie Thompson and Sarah Thompson, both of Glennville; his aunts and uncles, Caroline and Allen Parker of Florida, Jeffery E. McNeill, Mark and Christy Thompson all of Glennville, Jana and Chris Reeves of Vidalia, Paul and Christi Thompson of Glennville; his niece, Delaney Kay Gibbs; his nephew, Remington Lee Tootle, and several loving cousins.
