W. Roger Sharpe

W. Roger Sharpe, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Community Hospice in Vidalia. The lifelong Tattnall County resident was born on December 24, 1950, to Foy and Gladys Sharpe.

Roger was a 1968 graduate of Reidsville High School. He also served in the Georgia National Guard, a reflection of his commitment and sense of duty. Over the course of his working life, he retired from the farm at the Georgia State Prison after 34 years of service, a long and steady career that spoke to his dedication and strong work ethic.

Roger enjoyed a life shaped by the things he loved most. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and mechanic work, interests that reflected both his skill and his appreciation for hard work and the outdoors. These pursuits were a meaningful part of his life and will be remembered by those who knew him.

Roger was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by parents and his sister, Joyce Sharpe.

He is survived by his children, Mikki (Ronnie) Kilgore of Lyons and Jessie (Dena) Sharpe of Collins; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2026, beginning at 10:00am at the Pinegrove Baptist Church Cemetery in Reidsville with a graveside service to follow at 11:00am.
