Wayne Brown was born on November 14, 1947, and passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 5, 2026. Wayne was a devoted and hardworking man who faithfully served as an employee with the City of Jacksonville for over 35 years. His years of service reflected his dedication, strength, and commitment to his work and community. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilma Yvonne Brown, who passed on April 22, 2010; and his brothers, Rader “Chicken” Brown and Lenton Brown.
Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his loving son, Wayne Brown (wife, Nephateria Brown); and his daughter, Dannielle Brown. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Wayne Brown Jr., Nyla Brown, Tiana Byrd, and Triniti Myrick. (of Jacksonville, FL). He is also survived by his siblings: Cecelia (Rudolph) Carter, Betty C. Beal, Joyce A. Clay, Evelyn Lawson, Gray Brown, Ruben Brown, and Glenn (Kim) Brown. (of Reidsville, Ga). Wayne shared special bonds with dear friends, Geneva Davis, Norman, Larry, Mr. Willie, the Trotters Club, Good Guys, and Dusty’s of Jacksonville, FL. along with many others whose lives he touched. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Wayne will be remembered for his strength, his dedication, and the love he gave to his family and community. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church with interment to follow at Sandhill Cemetery.
