Wayne "Roger" Bratcher, age 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Community Hospice in Vidalia. He was born in Alma on January 12, 1946, to Bill and Ella Mae Bratcher. Roger had lived in Alma and Brunswick before moving to Jacksonville, FL. He made Cobbtown his home in 1979. Roger was a dedicated truck driver for many years, proudly retiring from Triangle J.
In addition to his career, Roger was a sincere patriot, having served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. His military service instilled in him a sense of discipline and care for others, traits that remained evident in all aspects of his life.
Roger was not only recognized for his profession but also celebrated as a talented musician. He played with several bands over the years, most recently with the group "Ministering Spirits." His ability to produce music from his own recording studio was a hallmark of his creative spirit. Music was a cherished hobby; alongside it, he found joy in the serene pastime of fishing.
Roger is a member of The Branch Church and is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie Bratcher; and his siblings, Junior, Jackie, Mabel, Mary Ella and Ruby.
He is survived by his current wife, Robin Batcher of Cobbtown; his children, Lori Bratcher Collins of Vidalia, Wayne Roger Bratcher, Jr. of Virginia, John (Amy) Bratcher of Reidsville and Sabrina Sego of Cobbtown; grandchildren, Hope Collins Carr (Chris), Taylor Shae Alkayyai (Malek), Paige Collins Upshaw (Toby), Brennen Bratcher (Jaycee), Bradley Bratcher, and Lyric Sego; great grandchildren, Laney and Kennedy Carr.
