Zarai Eula Mae Jewel Kalweit, 4 months old, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2026, at Arthur M. Bland Children's Hospital in Atlanta. She was born on November 30, 2025, in Savannah to Tyler and Ashley Kennedy Kalweit. Zarai was an extraordinary little soul whose brief time with us made a lasting impression filled with love and warmth.
Zarai was lovingly known as "mama and daddy's love bug," a precious title that captured the deep affection she inspired from her devoted parents. Though her days were few, her spirit was mighty; her favorite song, "Jesus Loves Me," was a comforting melody that surrounded her with grace. Even as an infant of just four months, Zarai showed a feisty and opinionated nature, revealing a strength and personality beyond her tender age.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Sara Kennedy; grandparents, Elizabeth Kennedy and Albert (Dinah) Kalweit; and great grandfather, Charlie Kennedy.
She is survived by her parents, Tyler and Ashley Kalweit of Reidsville; her siblings, Oceann Walter Johnson, Zyria Elizabeth Anne Johonson and Zorrow Eli Kennedy Johnson all of Reidsville; grandmother, Lisa Kennedy Noeller of Reidsville; great grandmother, Joann Brookshire of Maulk, GA; aunt, Erin Noeller of Reidsville; uncle, Anthony Caron of Reidsville; great uncles, Charlie Kennedy, Jr. of Reidsville and John Kennedy of Glennville.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm with the funeral services to follow at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial.
Low Country Cremation and Burial has the honor to serve the family of Zarai Eula Mae Jewel Kalweit.
