Alton "Al" Delton Jenkins

Mr. Al D. Jenkins passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Community Hospice Inpatient Center surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Savannah to Elton V. and Daisy Bell Dasher Jenkins and had lived in Glennville, Savannah and Reidsville most of his life.  He was a Sergeant in the United States Marines and had retired as a comptroller for the CSX Railroad.  Mr. Al enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and sitting on his porch drinking his coffee.  He attended Lakeview Church and the Believer’s Church.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sisters.

He is survived by his son and daughter in law, John C. and Beverly Jenkins; his daughter, Angela Jenkins Ward; grandchildren, S. Brett (Meagan) Jenkins, Johnna Melissa (Steven) Frost; great granddaughter, Olivia Grace Frost; former wife and lifelong friend, Jeaneene Cobb Burell; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with honors rendered by the United States Marines.
