Ms. Barbara Tippins Lisbon, age 69, gained her wings on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA. She was born in Tattnall County, GA on September 29, 1951 to the late James and Lillie Mae Tippins. She was educated in the Tattnall County School System.  She was employed with the Long County Board of Education for 15 years. Later, she worked as a Correctional Officer at Smith State Prison for a number of years before retiring.  She was also a licensed cosmetologist as well as a caregiver to anyone that was in need. At an early age, she joined the Greater Zachariah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. T.J Lynch.  She later joined First African Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Clarence E. Boles, Jr. She was a faithful servant and helped in any way she could. She was also a devoted choir member, and fulfilled many duties under the leadership of Rev. Derrick Ryals. Barbara was married to Charlie Lisbon and to that union, three children were born.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lillie Mae Tippins; six of her siblings, J.W., Ralph, Dale, Glenn, Shirleen and Lawanda.

Barbara leaves her cherished memories to her three sons, Kendrel (Kim) Tippins, Corey (Frances) Lisbon, both of Glennville and Shawn Lisbon of Brunswick;  two sisters, Lisa Tippins and Stephanie (Ricky) Thomas both of Glennville; two brothers, Bill Tippins of Hephzibah, GA. and Joel (Carmoleta) Tippins of Chesapeake, VA;  twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren;  four aunts, Betty Presley, Laura Ward, Victoria McNeal, Novella (Willie) Way; two uncles, Chester and Richard Henry.  A host of nieces, nephews and many friends also survive.

Graveside services will be held 11:30am, Friday, January 29, 2021 at Sandhill Cemetery with the Reverend Derrick Ryals officiating.
