Barbara Ann (Holland) Poplin

August 30, 1945 — May 20, 2023

Glennville

Barbara Ann Holland Poplin 77, of Glennville, returned home to her heavenly father on Saturday, May 20, 2023. A retired Family Connection Coordinator with Tattnall County Board of Education, Barbara made a positive impact on everyone she encountered. Whether it was her fighting spirit, her quick wit, or her enormous heart, Barbara always knew what was needed, and could bring it to the table in spades. She left an indelible mark on all the lives she touched and her impact while here on earth could not possibly be measured. She was a master wordsmith, a music lover, and a board game assassin. More importantly, she was the best wife, mother, nana/grandma, and sister that one could ever know. Family was always her highest priority. A caregiver by design, she nurtured joyfully, loved fearlessly, and gave diligently. A true example to all that witnessed her wonder. Those who knew her were fortunate; those loved by her were blessed. The void from her absence is unfillable. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Irene Holland, her brother Bill Holland, and her daughter Stephani Diller.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jim, her constant companion and best buddy, Pickle the dog, sons Sean (Jeanette) and James (Shannon), daughter Jamie, her grandchildren Devin (Ashley), Jennifer (Adam), William (Rebekah), Ryan (Ally Jo), Molly (Ramsey), Mathew (John Carlo), Gabriel, Salma & Mabry Ann, her many precious great grandchildren, her sister Susan Douglas, her cherished nieces and nephews, and “all them damn cats”.

Her family will hold the memory of her in their hearts always. “We will never be the same as we were before this loss, but we are ever so much better for having had something so great to lose.”

To honor Barbara’s wishes, the family will not be holding a public memorial service.

Contributions in memory of Barbara Poplin can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
