Bertha Lopez, age 23, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN.  She was born February 16, 1999 in Mexico to Gemima Gonzalez and Jacob Lopez and had lived in Claxton since she was an infant.  Bertha graduated from Claxton High School in 2018 and was currently attending Christian Brothers University in Memphis.  She enjoyed singing in Church, playing musical instruments, and painting.  Bertha attended Crossroads Community Church in Statesboro and her favorite saying was “Saved by Grace.”

She is survived by her parents, Gemima Gonzalez and Jacob Lopez of Claxton; sisters, Abril Lopez, Destiny Lopez and Diana Lopez all of Claxton; and her niece, Ava Elizabeth Rodriguez.

The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00pm on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Glennville Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
