David McElveen, age 60 passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at Glenvue Health and Rehabilitation. David was born on January 17, 1961 on Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point airfield located in Havelock, North Carolina, United States to parents Jacob McElveen of Hazlehurt and Wynona McElveen of Garden City who preceded him in death. David McElveen was a member of the Port Wentworth Christian Missionary Alliance Church. McElveen grew up in Garden City. He attended Savannah Chatham County schools to include Mercer Middle School and Groves High School. He was a skilled and crafty painter and was also employed at Food Lion. David McElveen was soft spoken and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. David McElveen was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Wynona McElveen, his sons, David Myers and Joshua Raney.  McElveen has two uncles A. J. and Bud McElveen, both of Bloomingdale; and one aunt, Jeannette Yarbrough of South Carolina.

To carry on his legacy David McElveen leaves his brother Kim McElveen of Cobbtown; sisters, Tracy Brannen of Pooler and Debra Howell of Savannah; His sons Christopher McElveen, Mathew (Lateka) Raney, Jeremy (Chyna) McElveen, and Jamie Myers and his daughter Nicole Lynch. Grandchildren: Christopher McElveen Jr., Carson McElveen, Josiah Raney, Cassidy McElveen, Gunner McElveen and Ryder McElveen.


Graveside services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Hillcrest Abbey West, 1336 Dean Forest Rd, Savannah, GA 31405

Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the McElveen family.
