Glennville

Glennville,

Della Hendrix was born on February 7th, 1962 in Tattnall County to the late Walter Mae Timmons and Elzie Timmons. Della answered the sudden call home on July 16th, 2021. She is now reunited with her sister the late Bettye Kingston who preceded her in death. Della graduated from Tattnall County School System. Her love to care for others led her to tending to many at Claxton Nursing Home as well as Savannah Specialty Care and many others in private care. She dedicated her life to the Lord and had a heart of gold. She would give her last to anyone. Her classy ways, beauty and smile would always overtake a room when she entered. Mr. Carl Hendrix fell in love with those features of Della. They both said “I Do” to each other and became inseparable on July 7th, 1992; their union remained special, loyal and trustworthy for 29 years.

Della had a passion to cook, interior decorate, and clean. She also loved to fish, go shopping, long talks, and getting her nails done. She was passionate about protecting her children and encouraging her grandchildren with her loving ways. Many can say Della was very bold with being direct, as well as comical. Della Hendrix will forever be cherished in memories by her loving husband Carl Hendrix. Her children, two daughters: Chiquita Mercer of Lyons, GA; Malicka Pressley (Roderick Pressley) of Savannah, GA; three sons: Jason Timmons of Vidalia, GA; David Jackson of Savannah, GA; and Mario Childers of Statesboro, GA (3 children). A godson: Marcus Ivy. 12 grandchildren David Jackson, Jasmine Timmons, Jaylen Olinde, Rockell Pressley, Keyonee Mercer, Alani Smith, Zyea’ Jackson, Jakael Pressley, Davion Jackson. Two sisters: Lorretta Brewton and Margaret Manuel both of Glennville, GA. A brother Elzie Timmons of Savannah, GA; Aunt, Adell Murray; Uncle, Terry Bostic;  a dear cousin who loved her as a sister, Evelyn Smith. Three special close friends Arline Hines, Dolores Barthelmess and Joy Crow along with a host of relatives and friends who will carry her on in their hearts.
