Vidalia

Vidalia,

Donnell Wesley Simpson, age 15, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 in Vidalia.  Wesley was born on September 23, 2005 to the proud parents of Donnell and Maria Simpson.  He attended the Vidalia School System throughout his schooling at the time of his transition, he was attending Vidalia Comprehensive High School.

As a son, he was very loving, humble, and humorous.  His parents can recall the many times he would try to pull jokes on them.  He knew how to get his parents to agree with whatever he wanted.  His mom and dad expressed that he was a mama’s baby.  He would use those eyes, smile, and a tight hug to get whatever he desired.
Wesley enjoyed basketball, football, wrestling, and skating.  He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, on the weekends, at the bowling alley.

*Little Brother***
As a little brother, He was smart, fun, loving, goofy and just a happy person; My twin as he say.

***As a Grandson***
Wesley was Wonderful!  He loved his Grandmother and I loved him more.

****An Uncle***
As an Uncle, he was more like a brother and it was easy to talk to about anything. He was so easy to love. He will be missed.

***A Nephew***
As a Nephew, Wesley was very charismatic a natural charmer you were going to remember meeting Wesley Simpson!!! Can't leave out his sense of humor he could keep you laughing for days ....But mostly I'll always remember looking at him seeing a innocence child even when he sprouted and started growing physically. I could always see that lil fella with the locks with an endearing spirit that FORCED YOU to love him....

Another Uncle remembers him sitting up late nights withmanf watching TV I really love Wesley very sweet young man going to miss him

He was smart witty and he loved to fish.

I remember Wesley calling me saying that Maria and Donnell made me mad can you come pick me up and I did and he was always doing something to make me laugh and always call me to say auntie do you need me to do anything for you I love Wesley as my own child

Wesley was confident and knew he could do all things, if he put his mind to it. He embraced African culture and gained his "Right of Passage" at age five. When he wore his first Africa attire, in public, he was concerned about how others would view him. He asked "Auntie, why can't I just go to the program looking normal?" I replied, "Because you're not normal, you're from a Royal family. Therefore, you must take your place without being embarrassed." He wore it like a true Prince and Leader. Rise on my Nephew and take your place with Our Ancestors. Peace, Love and Light

***As a Little Cousin***
As a little cousin, Wesley- I was living in SC and Auntie Ria called me to tell me you woke up at 2 a.m crying “I want my Britt Britt” lol you were my first child because I was so much older than you. Our parents didn’t raise us to be cousin we were siblings. You meant the world to me.
I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I’ll love you forever more

As a little cousin, Wesley, was like having a younger sibling or should I say a male twin he was like me in every way.. I constantly use to look at him growing up and say “this boy is my twin” he was funny,he loved sports, and always the life of the party,if you ever met him he left his mark .. Once I saw he looked up to me I always made sure I was that great role model to him,. While I always wanted to make sure I protected him, he made sure he did the same. I’ll always love him. Continue being my body guard & “my manager” as he would say, "I love you."

Wesley was a beautiful soul.  He knew people all over Vidalia and wherever he went he left a great impression with them. As a little cousin I seen so much in him and always wanted the best for him.  He was a young leader and a very observant child.  He made a lot of our lives special and he will always be in our hearts.  Love always

For anyone to know or meet Wesley was a blessing in itself, you could be having an off day and run into Wesley and he definitely going to make you laugh by talking trash or making a joke about something lol I’ve never seen Wesley down or sad a day that I’ve known him. I’m truly going to miss pulling up and shooting a couple of shots of basketball with him just to show him his big cuz haven’t lost his shot lol Wesley I love you and watch over us until that day we meet again

***As a Student***
Wesley kept his teachers, principals and any authoritative figures on their toes! There were times Wesley thought he was his Educators equal. Lol! They never knew what Wesley was going to present to them at any given moment or day. But they saw greatness within him and never gave up on him. That smile, negotiation skills, and most of all, the respect he showed took him a long way. He will always have a place in their heart.

Wesley is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Rev. Lee Coleman Jr. and Clarence W. Simpson and his grandmother, Lizzie Pearl Rollins.
