Gabriel Jose Martinez, age 61, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at Evans Memorial Hospital.  He was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 20, 1959 to Jose and Amparo Garcia Martinez and had lived in Glennville for the past 38 years.  He was a painter by trade and a mechanic.  Gabriel loved to go fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He is of the Catholic Faith and is preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Daniel Martinez and Yolanda Garcia.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mrs. Maria Martinez of Glennville; children, Juan (Marixza) Martinez of Glennville and Jeanette Martinez of Reidsville; siblings, Florentina Martinez, Santos Johnson, Teresa Cammack all of Glennville and Diana Martinez of Texas; grandchildren, Tatina, Andrew, Jennifer, Juan, Anastasin Martinez, Ethan, Carlos, Omar, and Sarah Garcia; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 7:00pm on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 10:00am Monday from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Glennville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Juan Martinez, Juan Martinez, Jr, Israel Francisco, Winslo Garcia, Carlos Garcia, and Sammy Martinez.
