Garnett Ruth (Godby) Skeens

Ms. Garnett Ruth Skeens, age 90, passed away May 29, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  She was born November 13, 1928 in Chapmanville, WV to Henry and Jeanette Godby.  She was a military wife and had lived all over the country.  She did call Key West, FL home.  Three years ago she moved to Claxton to be with her daughter Jeanette.  Ms. Garnett was a homemaker and loved to crossword puzzles, genealogy, picking berries and reading.  She is preceded in death by her husband and a son, Donald Skeens.

She is survived by her children, Mary Scenik, Robert Skeens, Ronald Skeens, Jeanette Pedigo, John Skeens, and Linda Dietrich; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be private.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Skeens family.
