Glenda Lynell Drinks

June 27, 1960 — April 21, 2021

Reidsville

On June 27, 1960 Glenda Wilson Drinks was welcomed into the world by her parents Willie Wilson (Montgomery, County) and Bernice Robinson Wilson (Treutlen, County). On Wednesday April 21, Glenda passed away peacefully at the Vidalia Memorial Hospital. She was educated in the schools of Toombs County, graduating from Lyons Senior High School in 1978. She accepted Christ at an early age in her life. She lived her life as a Christian according to God’s dictate. Her greatest joy, however, was searching the scriptures and sharing what she learned with anyone that would listen. She worked with the Toombs County School system and Chatters Restaurant in Toombs County. Glenda entered Holy Matrimony on June 12, 1998 with Sylvester Drinks

Glenda enjoyed decorating, eating, and spending time talking with young people. It was important to her to try to help young people understand that the decisions they make today will impact them for the rest of their lives.

When Glenda became a grandmother, she discovered a new joy in life that influenced her forever. She was family oriented in her style. She always searched for ways to make her life and her son’s life, Derrick more meaningful. We are so grateful and happy that her search for happiness and peace was when she reunited with her husband, Sylvester Drinks, who treated her like a queen, with love until she took her very last breath.

Glenda was preceded in death by her sibling, Addie Marie Dukes Solomon and her Father, Sylvester Dukes.

Glenda leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving, dedicated, and devoted husband, Sylvester Drinks; a devoted Son Derrick (Franchesca) Gwinette, Ga, Eight sisters, Patrolia A Washington, of Melbourne, Florida, Sabrina Cutler, of Lyons, GA- (Larry) Williette Wilson Baker (Thomas) of Fort Valley, GA; Sylvia Gillis, of Warner Robins, GA; Linda Bobbitt-Lewis (Dr. George) of St. Johns, Florida; Dolores Singleton (Edward) of Lees Burg, Florida; Lou Ann Wilson, of Leesburg, Florida; Gail Bowlan (Bennie, Jr.) of: Four Brothers; Gregory Dukes (Sharon) of Columbia, South Carolina; Antwan Dukes (Janae) of Kathleen, Georgia; Willie Wilson, Jr. (Phyllis) of Lyons, Georgia and Cecil Wilson of Florida.
