Jerry Powell

Mr. Jerry Powell, age 78, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at his residence.  He was born in Collins on July 1, 1942 to Marion and Maudie Jarriel Powell and had lived most of his life in Baltimore.  While in Baltimore he retired from GM Motors and the UAW Local 239.  In 1996, Jerry moved back to Collins.  He loved to do carpentry work and go fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Twindle Lindsey Powell and a son, Jerry “Petey” Powell.

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Kim and Mike McCarty of Statesboro; grandchildren, Michael McCarty, Jr of Statesboro,Matthew McCarty of Boise, Idaho and Lindsay McCarty of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews.
