John Mackinnon

Reidsville,
John "Fat Head" Mackinnon, age 60, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at his residence with his wife by his side.  He was born April 22, 1961 in Brockton, Massachusetts and had lived in Reidsville most of his life.  He and his wife, Jane owned and operated Mackinnon Trucking for many years.  He was also a great mechanic and there wasn't a piece of equipment that he couldn't operate.  John was a member of the Rising Sun Lodge #32 and Tattnall Shrine.  He was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Lively and a brother, Donnie Mackinnon.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jane Mackinnon of Reidsville; his daughter, Kristen Janes of Avery, TX; step children, Jerry Allen (Denise) Harrelson and Joanie Cheely (Tracy Arnold) all of Reidsville; siblings, Terri Brooks (Pete Chamber) and David Mackinnon all of Macon; grandchildren, Laken Janes, Quinleigh Janes, Eric Tootle, Sarah Harrelson, Anna Webb, and Angelina Cheely; aunt, Ginny Webster of Stuart, FL; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 beginning at 1:00pm at the funeral home with the funeral to follow at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial.  Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Pallbearers will be Daniel "Jack Rabbit" Anderson, Leslie "Joker" Groover, Merle "Rabbit" Anderson, Lynn "Jake Brake" Jones, Charles "Little Man" Anderson, Randall "Windjammer" Snellgrove.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Rising Sun Lodge 32 and Tattnall Shrine Club.
