Kathleen (Proctor) Currie

Reidsville,

Mrs. Kathleen “Kat” Proctor Currie, age 81, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.  She was born in Glennville on July 21, 1940 to Scott Proctor and Gussie Stanfield and had lived in Reidsville most of her life.  She retired as a Lieutenant of Security at Plant Hatch after 22 years of service.  She enjoyed sewing, traveling, reading and especially taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mrs. Kat is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Donald A. Currie, a son, Mark Currie and several siblings.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Mike) Thompson and Donna Currie all of Reidsville; daughter in law, Elaine Currie; siblings, Ellis Stanfield of Cedar Crossing and Dianne Stanfield of Reidsville; grandchildren, Heather Howard, Brett (Meagan) Thompson, Suzanne Thompson, and Robert Currie; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 26, 2021 from the hours of 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 12:00pm on Monday, December 27, 2021 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial.  Interment will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Proctor, Tyler Maddox, Billy Stanfield, Derek Palmer, Devan Willis and Jonathan Bunch.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Currie family.
