Mrs. Naomi Oliver Hightower, age 79, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at the Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia. She was born in Collins on November 15, 1940 to Roger Lewis Oliver and Oneida  Johnson Oliver.  Graduating Collins High School in 1959, she had lived in Tattnall County most of her life. For many years, Naomi was employed at Hill’s Shopping Center In Reidsville.  Countless Tattnall County residents will recall seeing her warm smile and friendly hello greet them in the store. She was devoted to her family, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren, there was no game, pastime, or adventure that she refused them!  When the “grands” weren’t around, her hobbies included cooking and traveling.  Although she has left this world, her impact and love will never die; she will be sorely missed.  She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Johnny Blaine Hightower; and a brother, Tony Oliver.

She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Mr. Ray Hightower of Collins; daughters and a son in law, Sabrina and Dr. James G. Patterson, Jr. of St. Marys and Tona Rae Hightower of Collins; sister, Lessie Mae (Larry) Collins of Collins grandchildren, Melissa Sapp, Megan Lindsey (Paul) Evans and Jincy (Scott) Wallace; great grandchildren, Tucker Thigpen, Bryson Sapp, Briggs Sapp, Scarlet Evans, Jagger Evans and Cooper Evans ; several nieces and nephews.

The family is giving friends and relatives an opportunity to visit the funeral home and pay your respects on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 between the hours of 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Private graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. James G. Patterson, Jr. officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials to be given to Tattnall CARES, PO Box 2356 Reidsville GA 30453.
