Pearl (Anderson) Griner

June 29, 1936 — March 26, 2023

Reidsville

Pearl Anderson Griner, 86, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at her home under the gentle care of Georgia Hospice Care. Pearl was a native of Tattnall County and spent most of her life in Reidsville, but her adventurous spirit took her across the country; she lived in Cartersville for nearly 17 years and Beaumont, Texas for five years before moving back to Reidsville in 1970.  Her infectious smile and warm heart touched countless lives.  Pearl was a true trailblazer, defying traditional gender roles; working as a long-haul truck driver for over 17 years. She eventually retired after 20 years as an assistant manager for McDonald’s, leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication to everything she did.  But Pearl's true passion was for her family and friends. Her love language was cooking, and her delicious meals were a testament to her generosity and kindness. She had a heart for the sick and those in need, always going above and beyond to care for them. Pearl was also a devoted member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Reidsville, where she found comfort and joy in her faith.  As we honor Pearl's life and legacy, we are comforted knowing that her warm spirit and boundless love will live on in the hearts of those she touched.  Pearl is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvis "Al" Griner, her children, Paulette Brock, Michael Woods and Janet Griswell; parents, Adon and Ruby Nell (Bowen) Anderson; her brother, Northern Anderson and a sister, Fronie Wood.

She leaves behind a loving legacy, including her seven children, Dennis Woods, Kenneth Woods, Richard Woods, Cathy Hooper, and Anthony Woods; fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and countless other friends and relatives who were blessed by her presence.

A Celebration of Pearl's Life will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial, with Rev. Jeffrey Barnard officiating. Inurnment will follow the services in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
