Richard “Ricky” Bowen, age 63, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from complication from Covid-19.  The Toombs County native was a graduate of Toombs County High School.  Ricky was a hard-worker and enjoyed his career as a long-haul truck driver.  This career path allowed him to see nearly every part of the United States as well as much of Canada and Mexico.  When he was home, his favorite thing to do was to have his family and friends gather where, inevitably, he would end up cooking for the whole crowd!  Within the family he was definitely known as the “grill master”.   Additionally, he enjoyed fishing and could be found on the banks of the Ohoopee River many days.  Ricky was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Bowen.

Left to celebrate the life they lived together is his wife, Teresa Bowen of Reidsville; a son, Tommy Bowen of KY; two daughters, Jennifer (Andy) Corbitt of Lyons and Amanda (Jeffrey) Edwards of Lyons; two stepdaughters, Amanda (Dalton) Allison of Collins and Stacey Moore of Reidsville; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Wayne (Doris) Bowen of Collins; a sister, Faye McNair of Collins; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

In keeping with Ricky’s wishes there will be no formal memorial services.
