Robert Lee Collins

February 25, 1944 — April 16, 2020

Glennville

Glennville GA,

Elder Robert Lee Collins, Jr., age 76, gained his Heavenly reward on Thursday, April 16, 2020.  The Mendes native lived his entire life in the White Pines area, where he was very well known, and respected.  At an early age, he began farming and ultimately applied that vital trade for his entire professional career.  As a man that was always active, three of his favorite hobbies were planting flowers, cutting grass, and fishing.

Although he was definitely a man among men; he was also a great husband, and father.  He would not hesitate to help whomever he could. Robert could also maintain his home.  He was a excellent cook, and a spotless housekeeper.  In as much as he worked personally, and professionally; his labors were doubled when it came to serving the Lord.  He gave his life to the Lord over 60 years ago; later rising to serve as an Elder at his home church, Little Salem First Christ Holiness in Groveland, GA.  He was determined to lead as many as he could to the Lord. He not only preached the word of God, but he lived it all of his life.  None that knew him would question the fact that he was indeed a loving, kind, and very giving man of God.  He exhibited traits that so few lack in these days and times; he will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee, and Minnie Collins, Sr; his wife of 29 years, Pauline Norman Collins, and his second wife of 21 years, Marion Davis Collins; his siblings, Elizabeth “Pearl” Mobley, and Mourice Collins, Sr.

He is survived by his daughters, Minister Carole Collins of Glennville, GA; and Dianne Collins of Lauderhill, FL; siblings, Jenny Jones, and Ronnell Owens both of Detroit, MI; grandchildren, Furman Lee Oxendine II, and Maurice Fillmore, Jr.; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family will give friends an opportunity for a brief viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday from the hours of 5:00pm - 7:00pm.  Please, due to the virus, only one person at the time will be able to come inside the funeral home to view.  A private graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday April 22, 2020 at Roberts Chapel Cemetery with Apostle Bobbie Adkins officiating.
