Collins

Thomas H. “Tommy” Moser, age 65, passed away on February 8, 2020 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.  Born in Evans County, the Tattnall County native lived all of his life in Collins; where he was a longtime member of Collins Baptist Church.  He was a 1972 graduate of Reidsville High School and went on to Swainsboro Tech to learn the electrical trade, graduating again the same year.  Despite being a master electrician, he could not deny his love for cars.  Ultimately, he would go on to work and retire from Nesmith Chevrolet in Claxton as the service manager.  His vocation and his hobbies aligned well.  His favorite sport was drag racing.  His skill and knowledge of automobiles was a natural fit for this highly competitive sport.  Additionally, he was an avid gardener and loved his time spent in his garden.  When the sun went down, Tommy was not one to while away the hours.  He found an inside hobby that he quickly mastered, owning a 600 gallon and a 400 gallon salt water aquarium.  He became an expert on the care and maintenance of not only the aquariums, but also many species of marine life.  His collection of diverse aquatic species was only rivaled by his varied collection of firearms.  Tommy always enjoyed learning new things, and spent much of his time reading all that he could about many diverse topics.  Tommy is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Upshaw and Amanda Cowart; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Moser; parents, Thomas “Ward” and Evelyn Moser; son in law, Darrell Leopard; brother in law, Jerry Meeks and a sister, Virginia Louise Moser.

Left to celebrate the memories are his wife of 47 years, Vicki Moser; a daughter, Amanda (James) Leopard; three granddaughters, Michelle Mosley, Casey (Zane) Mosley-Lockley, and Addison Redd; three great grandchildren, Trenton Thomas Lockley, Annabelle Lockley, and Lillian Lockley; two brothers, Jimmy Moser and Terry Moser; three sisters in law, Gina Cline, Wendy Harvey, Janeese (Mark) Balsemo; special cousins, Brenda (Jim) Wallace, Jolene (George) Scott, Eva (Ricky) Wilson, and Gwen Anderson; a very special friend, Doug Heckart; five who called him “Uncle Tommy”, Brianna (Alex) Balsemo, Karla Brown, Emily (Ronnie) Cannon, Michael (Angie) Moser, and Jacob Jarriel; many who simply called him “Pa”, along with a number of nieces, nephews, and friends made along life’s journey.
