Victor Ward Shuman

Mr. Victor Ward Shuman, age 91, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro.  He was born July 3, 1929 in Collins and had lived in Tattnall County all his life.  Mr. Ward started farming at the age of 13 and farmed up to several years ago.  He was an US Army Veteran that had served in the Korean Conflict.  He loved to go hunting and fishing, but his passion was growing and working in his vegetable garden.  He was a faithful member of the Reidsville United Methodist Church and is preceded in death by his parents, Lawton Lehman Shuman and Carrie Rogers Shuman and his siblings, Cleon, Leonard, and Herman Shuman.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mrs. Winona Shuman of Reidsville; children, Cheryl Josey of Reidsville, Anita Vickery of St. Simons Island, Vickie Shuman of Ocala, FL,Teresa (David) McDonald of Hinesville, and Richard Ward Shuman of Newnan; brothers, Don Shuman of Hinesville, and Robert (Glenda) Shuman of Collins; grandchildren, Daniel, David Jr, Bobbie, Reagan, Jennifer, Ben, Matthew, Nicole, Katie, and Jack; great grandchildren, Jake, Gracyn, and Caleb; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 beginning at 6:00pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday at the Reidsville United Methodist Church with Reverend Marc Foster officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Calvin Shuman, Glenn Shuman, Johnny Shuman, Larry Shuman, Gary Shuman, and Damon Shuman.

Memorials may be given to the Reidsville United Methodist Church.
