William Clayton Anderson, age 70 passed away Friday May 21, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Georgia Home Care Hospice. He was born in Reidsville on November 27, 1950 to Collie and Almania Kicklighter Anderson and had lived in Glennville all of his life.  He was a 1970 Glennville High School Graduate.  Upon graduation, he went into the construction industry; first becoming a brick mason.  After mastering the masonry trade, he joined the Insulators Local Union 96 and worked on union jobs for over 30 years until his retirement.  William was definitely not one to sit idle.  After his retirement he was able to devote more time to the hobbies he was most passionate about.  He loved to go fishing, and he was known for having an improvised fish fry immediately following his excursions.  This habit fit well with him as he was certainly a “people person” and he relished having friends and family around.  Others recall the peanut boils he would have where countless “stories” and “tall tales” were shared!  His giving nature is what many knew him best for.  During the growing season, he would freely share the bounty of his plentiful garden with countless people around the county.  Although many mistakenly tried, William would never accept money for his generosity.  A man, although not always perfect, truly lived the words of Christ, “Love thy neighbor as thyself”; William will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Irma Easterling, Randy Anderson and Terry Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Durrence Anderson of Glennville; children, Jennifer Waters, Kristy (Chris) Brady and Bryan (Angela) Anderson all of Glennville; siblings, Danny Anderson of Glennville, Diane (Wade) Gill of Wilmington Island and Darlene (Bill) Whitlow of Glennville; grandchildren, Bailey Waters, Braden Waters, Ava Kate Brady and Taylor Anderson; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Monday, May 24, 2021 from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home with Chaplain Libby Gardner and Mr. Jason Whitlow officiating. Interment will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Whitlow, Tub Sands, Keith Anderson, Denver Barrow, Gary Banks and Alan Anderson.

The family is honored by any expression of sympathy but does suggest memorials be given to Tattnall CARES, PO BOX 2356 Reidsville GA 30453.
