Willie Lee Mincey

Willie L. Mincey was born on November 26, 1952, in Claxton, GA, to the late Jessie Mae and Brantford Mincey, Sr. Willie was the sixth child of ten children.

Willie took pride in being an efficient and devoted worker.

Willie began working at Church's Chicken in Savannah, GA, shortly after his 18th birthday. He received a promotion to store manager within a year. Over the years, Willie worked at Derst Baking Company and Chu's Grocery Store, both in Savannah, GA. He received numerous accolades from both companies.

Willie loved the Lord and received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Willie also loved the simple things in life. So, an ideal Saturday night for Willie consisted of chowing down on some crabs, playing spades, and listening to the sweet soothing sounds of Classic 70's Soul Music.

Willie's family and friends loved him dearly, but God loved him more. And on December 28, 2021, the Lord commissioned His Angels to escort him home to his Mansion in Heaven.

Willie was preceded in death by his father, Brantford Mincey, Sr., his mother, Jessie Mae Mincey, his two sisters, Jacqueline Mincey-Hall and Sarah Mincey, and his two brothers, Brantford Mincey, Jr. and James Mincey.

Willie leaves behind his fiancé, Kathy Coker and his children, Latavia Hendricks, and Teron Lee Mincey. Willie also leaves to cherish his memories his sister, Bessie Brewton and four brothers, Dale Mincey, Doug Mincey, Walter Mincey, and Thomas Mincey, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from the hours of 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm on Friday, January 7, 2022 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial.  Interment will follow in the Mincey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dale Mincey, Doug Mincey, Walter Mincey, Thomas Mincey, Don Mincey, and Robert Stephens.

Low Country Cremation & Burial is serving the Mincey family during this period of bereavement.
